My bike is a BWS 2 stroke. Has anyone ever looked at changing the carbon coil lead to a wire type? Can it be done? Is it a matter of turning the coil side off a connector, similar to the process when unscrewing the plug cap? I understand that the carbon is better for radio suppression. My theory is that carbon leads break down and get fine cracks with age, which is prone to dampness.

A pix of the coil. It doesn't look like the plug lead screws into the coil end, like the cap end does. Anyone have a faulty coil that they can test? It would required attempting to screw off the carbon lead where it enters the coil. See attached pix. Thanx.
